An event showcasing the importance of STEM in school curriculum and a platform to share the proposed TasSTEM precinct [in Hobart] with the schools of Sorell Council.

Event Description: An event showcasing the importance of STEM in school curriculum and a platform to share the proposed TasSTEM precinct [in Hobart] with the schools of Sorell Council. The community engagement event will bring fun and interactive STEM activities and information to the schools within the Sorell Council area (Sorell School, Dodges Ferry School and Dunalley School). The event forms part of a ‘giving back’ school project originally planned by Sebastian Mundy (10 year old student and resident of Sorell).

Event Inclusions:

  • BBQ Lunch hosted by Sorell’s Rotary Committee & Volunteers  and Sorell Council
  • A mini STEM expo hosted by the University of Tasmania and additional science and technology providers
  • A short presentation on the proposed TasSTEM precinct for the CBD of Hobart
  • Participating schools will receive an ‘I Support TasSTEM’ t-shirt and/or TasSTEM pin badge
